ABOUT THE EMBODIED VOICE FLOW APPROACH
The Embodied Voice Flow approach invites you to re-discover an intimate and empowered relationship with your primal voice and its profound sensitivity. Through a series of somatic investigations into deep listening, embodied vocality, musical instinct, and Collaborative Vocal Improvisation, EVF opens a shared space to connect with the pleasure and healing qualities of creating music with breath, voice, mouth, and body — and with our innate instinct for expression and relational music-making.
The overall trajectory follows a clear progression: from the functional aspects of voice and body (breath anatomy, elements of acoustics and phonetics), through practices of vocal release, and into the realm of improvised musical flow — the “music of the now.”
SOME OF THE PRACTICES YOU WILL LEARN
Voice embodiment through somatic exploration and touch work
Estill Voice Technique (an anatomical perspective on different voice qualities)
Percussive voice / melodic voice (pulsing ∞ flowing)
Generating and sustaining musical flow (alone and with peers)
Principles of Collaborative Vocal Improvisation (CVI)
Channeling your “song of the moment”
Applying principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to unblock and heal stored trauma related to musical expression
Honouring your process by allowing and experiencing rather than judging or evaluating — surrendering to your voice’s unique qualities
ABOUT ME
I am an Italian artist, teacher, and facilitator working with voice, movement, and improvisation.
My methodology, Embodied Voice Flow, evolves at the intersection of somatic movement practices, vocal improvisation, ecological practices and psychotherapeutic approaches. Through this work, I explore how voice can become a bridge between body, awareness, and environment — a practice of listening, expression, connection, and community building.
Since 2005 I have been teaching and performing internationally, developing a pedagogical and artistic language that weaves embodiment, intuitive singing, and collective improvisation. My workshops invite participants to experience voice as movement and vibration, cultivating presence, creativity and self-regulation through sound.
“Sometimes we don't even know how great the change is until someone notices that and tells you. That's what happened after my first TWIS programme in 2018. People told me: your voice sounds wider! And I thought: my body feels boundless and I can spread myself through space as never before. That was just the begining. Alessio's approach is both emotional, caring, playful and technical, having intuition and allowance as a starting point and perceiving body-voice-space as a whole. I'm definitely more present, grounded, connected to myself and the landscape everytime I come from a process with him. And for that, I'm freer as an artist!”
Mariana Camacho (singer, sound artist)
“Mentoring sessions with Alessio have thus far been a safe and sound journey of what it can mean to establish a relationship with my own voice – as a medium, as a partner, as a presence. from more technical and playful vocal exercises to the deep waters of listening, hearing and breathing – each session interlaces the actions of tuning in with an embodied understanding of what and how the voice reveals, finds, hides and sustains itself. as a fairly timid person, it has been comforting to train with someone who is so knowledgeable and caring, someone who embraces the foundations of 'tuning in' so much in their own teaching practice.”
Gretchen Blegen (interdisciplinary artist)
“My experience in TWIS and working with Alessio was finding access to my own musicality and my voice which I have struggled for years to be able to hear. Working from a basis of vocal rhythm making- unlocked an understanding of music and composition while also unblocking my ability to be creative and improvise with my voice. Alessio's approach gives technique and structure with which to make sense of the experience of singing (having a voice) but an even deeper work- is the somatic informed TWIS approach which gives one a sense of belonging to ones voice and in the context of working in a group- a sense of safety and security.”
