The Rhizomatic Voice book
Crowd Funding Campaign

**Campaign launches September 16 on Startnext**

Singing Improvisation and Voice Embodiment as life practice - Help me bring the book to life.

Have you ever wished you could speak and sing more freely, but found yourself stopped by self-judgment?
This book invites you to think about your voice differently.
Imagine a rhizome: an underground network of roots that spreads sideways, with no centre, making connections in every direction. The voice works like this too - it unfolds through relationship, and embodied experimentation. This is my attempt to put that into words.

About the book

For thirty years the voice has been the centre of my life and research.
Beyond any normative idea of beauty and correctness, I have always been interested in the innate qualities of each voice: its uniqueness, its existing in a constant dialogue with someone or something, its power to guide us toward a more naked connection with ourselves and toward meeting one another in vulnerability through singing.

Last winter I self-published my first book: a compendium of voice exercises — the distilled how of my practice and teaching. Now I feel called to explore the deeper questions beneath the exercises.

What does it mean to inhabit a voice? What happens - philosophically, politically, spiritually - when we dedicate time to work somatically, when we improvise together, when singing returns to be a relational process to generate collective meaning and storytelling, rather than a product to be performed and consumed?

In this book I want to reflect about the nature of voice, and what it could mean as a sustainable, embodied practice in everyday life.

Why I'm crowdfunding this

I'm publishing this book independently because it allows me to keep the work affordable, preserve its voice, and collaborate only with people I trust. With this crowdfunding I want to invite the community that cares about this work to be part of its creation — your support doesn't just pay for production, it means this book exists on its own terms, not shaped by market logic or publisher timelines.

Below you can see some images of my first book “Cultivate your Voice” (more info about it here)

The Rhizomatic Voice will have four sections, four things central to my research:

  • Embodied voice work

  • Singing improvisation

  • Eco-somatic sound practices

  • Voice & Community Healing

Inside, you’ll find my personal reflections on improvisation, listening, and relational music-making,
sharing my personal life journey through performance, music, illness, consciousness work.
Each chapter will have also a few exercises to integrate each topic through direct experience.

To make this project possible, I need your support: by becoming a backer of the crowdfunding campaign, you will pre-order a digital or printed copy of the book, and contribute to my dream coming true.
The campaign begins on Sep 16th, and works as all or nothing, so any amount can truly make the difference.
Thank you for being in this with me.
